To: All Rink Directors, Program Directors, Players, Coaches and Parents,

SAHOF has been in constant contact with all rinks in the State during this time of crisis. Many of the rinks have utilized this time as an opportunity to make improvements to their facilities and are taking all the proper steps to make the rink a shining example of health and safety.

In a meeting last evening, the SAHOF Board of Directors weighed the input received by each facility, and the projections from our State and local governments in respect to lifting restrictions on ice rinks to determine a path forward towards starting tryouts for the 2020-21 season.

Accordingly, the SAHOF Board of Directors have set the following dates for Tier I and Tier II tryouts to convene for the 2020-21 season:

Tier I Tryouts – July 10th – 12th

Tier II Tryouts – July 13th

Dates are still subject change

No Organizations are permitted to offer player commitments or conduct any kind of tryouts prior to these dates. Complaints for alleged violations will be directed to the Disciplinary Committee of SAHOF.

This years SAHOF Annual Meeting will be held virtually Saturday, June 20th utilizing Zoom. All information for the meeting will be posted on the SAHOF website www.sahofhockey.org.

As we work together on a collective path back to hockey, we realize that this pandemic has caused many of our members hardships that may make a return to hockey difficult. As we move forward, SAHOF will be working with Organizations and rinks to strategize on different ways to assist families impacted financially that may be in need of support as we work to retain as many of our members as possible.

Take care,

Steve Lynch

SAHOF Executive Director

To:  All Rink Directors, Program Directors, Players, Coaches and Parents,

As many of the Rinks around the State are working hard to reopen in a safe and measured manner, please realize many facilities will be opening in different stages depending on mandates from the State and their local governments. The SAHOF Board of Directors will be meeting this Sunday to determine the best dates to convene Tier I and Tier II tryouts for the 2020-2021 season and a return to the rink plan of action.

Additionally, the SAHOF Board of Directors will also be planning a new date to reschedule the SAHOF Annual Meeting originally scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2020 at RDV Ice Den in Orlando. Because of the uncertain nature of having an available facility to host our Annual Meeting, the consensus is to have a virtual meeting this year utilizing Zoom. A new date and announcement will be forthcoming with all the information 30 days prior to the meeting.

We hope everyone has stayed safe and healthy as we look forward to your return to your local Ice Arena!

Take care,

Steve Lynch

SAHOF Executive Director

To: All Rink Directors, Program Directors, Players, Coaches and Parents,

The health and safety of our SAHOF Families is our first priority. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, the SAHOF Board of Directors is actively monitoring updates and responding to government guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus. At this time SAHOF has taken the following preliminary actions:

-       Tier I Tryouts and Florida Alliance Boys and Girls tryouts have been pushed back 30 days and will hopefully commence the weekend of May 15th.

-       The date Tier II Clubs can commence tryouts has been pushed back 30 days and tryouts will now be permitted to start June 1st. Tier II programs cannot commence tryouts sooner.

-       Player Developments Tryouts are looking to commence the weekend of May 15th.

We are dealing with a very fluid situation and changes may be made as our situation evolves. These dates are subject to change and will be posted on the SAHOF Website www.sahofhockey.org.

We are all working together to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please follow the Steps to Prevent Illness from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to protect you and your loved ones.

Take care,

Steve Lynch
